MP4 is a common delivery format for recorded presentations, tutorials, interviews, and social video. VideoTranscriptGen reads the audio track from a supported MP4 and produces timestamped text that you can review in the browser.
Start at the video transcript generator, select the MP4, confirm its language, and begin processing. You do not need to extract the audio track yourself. When the transcript is ready, correct important details and export it as TXT or SRT.
The .mp4 extension describes a container, not every codec inside it. A damaged file, unsupported internal codec, excessive size, or recording longer than the displayed limit can prevent processing. Confirm the video plays locally, then re-export it with a standard H.264 video track and AAC audio if needed. The full input list is maintained on supported formats.
Do not trim or re-edit the source after generating captions, because timestamps will no longer match. If the edit changes, transcribe the final cut again before exporting an SRT file.
